And a funnier, less angsty one to make up for the other one. Alexei propped up his feet on the table. “What is your name, anyway?”
Brown frowned. “You know my name.”
“We've been calling you Brown, and it is your name, but only one of them, and that was fine when you were a stranger and the enemy spy in our midst,” Alexei went on, watching the other man's reaction, “but as you are now not a stranger and we've corrupted you, we should really be calling you something other than Brown.”
The agent shrugged. “It's fine. I'm used to being Brown. It works.”
“Seriously? I'm going to start using inappropriate things that are brown as your name if you don't fess up,” Alexei told him, and Brown stared at him. He shrugged. “Come on. My sister calls me 'little brother,' 'baby brother,' and Lyosha. How bad can your name be?”
Brown sighed. “It's not... It's...”
“Wow, and I thought what I got stuck with for Lyosha was bad,” Alexei said, shaking his head. “Who did you piss off to get that sign name?”
Brown grimaced. “My parents were both very direct people.”
Alexei nodded. “Well, on the bright side... Now you know my sister, and she's bound to rename you. Just be careful so you get something you like this time.”
