I'm getting ready to read about 100,000 words of canon review for the collaboration, which is no small chunk, and before I do, I kind of wanted to write some drabbles. Any prompts?

I almost did the full quote last time, but...

X-Men Comicsverse Drabble: Tangled

Between Rogue and Remy were all these delicate threads, the ties that bind. While the love was there, the trust was fragile and easily broken. It tangled up in the fears she harbored and the lies he wielded.

"Ah never know what angles y'all are playin'," she'd chide him when he begged her one more time to just trust him. "Last time Ah did that, didn't turn out so well."

And Remy couldn't deny it, but the last time he'd trusted her, she'd abandoned him in Antarctica. "We could always forgive each other, neh?"

Another try, another touch, another thread.

Ah, these two. So dysfunctional and yet... One always wants them to work and reaffirm those ties. (And really can't suspend disbelief to say that many of those things weren't just plot devices and not what they'd really do if they could.)

Don't get me started. :mutters ominously in the direction of Marvel: And I haven't heard good things about the new comics storylines coming either.

Yeah, I dropped out of reading the comics after they tried to reintroduce a triangle with Magneto.

*shudders*

I haven't been back since.
