I'm getting ready to read about 100,000 words of canon review for the collaboration, which is no small chunk, and before I do, I kind of wanted to write some drabbles. Any prompts?

I was going to say I couldn't think of an original set, and almost put forth Rogue/Remy (Ultron spoilers have ruined Clint/Natasha for me) but then I remembered... You have Red Wolf/Whisper, and they fit in canon.

(I am alternately chucking Age of Ultron to the curb—the studio had already greenlit the pairing and half-implemented it when Whedon decided he needed Natasha to have a platonic friendship as if Steve didn't count—and treating it like X3, as optional apocryphal canon. I don't blame you.)

(I've decided not to see it and will therefore ignore it as canon in any respect, but sadly cannot unsee the spoilers. I guess it doesn't matter much, since I'm not writing fanfic and don't really read it except on occasion, but it does put me even further on the outside of Marvel than I was before.)

You won't be the only "Ultron does not exist" member of fandom. I fully support your decision.

Here's one of my favorite things about those spoilers: the family could be Barney's or a part of the visions Wanda gave the lot of them. That's where most of the fics went pre-movie.

They make more sense than what I've heard of from the movie.

Whisper could lead the team if she wanted to. She didn't. She could let Red Wolf handle himself. He was strong enough, brave enough.

He was hers, and she wasn't going to lose someone who belonged to her ever, ever again.

Red Wolf sighed as he leaned back on the bed pillows and ran his hands through his hair. "I could handle the warrant," he said, a little biting, a little frustrated. "Legally, they can't interrogate me for what I did as a team operative."

Whisper just looked at him until he finally looked up at her. "Queen protects king."
