That's eight fics! I do NOT need another one. So here's to getting a little of it out of my head, so it'll leave me alone.
Broken Time is a journey through all the different timelines as the Witness changes things by traveling through time or having folks in the time he needs to change do it. I really mess with the canon of any of the X-Men 'verses with the initial premise.
I start with the Guilds of New Orleans. Of course, being me, it's not so simple as Thieves and Assassins. No, I have to go mess with things and here we have three Guilds: Thieves, Assassins, and Mercenaries. The Patriarchs of these Guilds, respectively, are Jean-Luc LeBeau, Marius Bordreaux, and Logan James Howlett (as an actual young man). It gets better. Rogue is Logan's biological daughter and Marius' adopted daughter and the only way to unite all three Guilds. Mind you, I agree when you say I'm a little crazy and my brain needs to take a break from this stuff. But I try to make it all make sense.
Remy grows up with his full powers and they call him Witness because he sees the future and helps the Guild make decisions that are good in the long run. Well, time moves along. Remy gets married, has kids, witnesses something that brings him back shaking and scared and brooding and then deliberately goes back and changes time for the first time that he does.
All of his manipulating people and time goes through various lifetimes, and I won't tell you just how much he changes the life of his younger self. The first time he changes everything, he gives the Guilds the Elixir of Life and they end up having children later and he manages to move himself and everything down a few decades, thus bringing things into line with the X-Men's time instead of so much earlier. It gets complicated from there.
Well, thanks for reading if you got this far. Gotta go.
