Every week for the last three months, Wesley Bryn has showed up at Pretty Things to return a book to the proprietor and borrow another. The reason is as much a mystery to him as to her.

Very nice. I felt so bad for him in there, wanted him to be able to remember and know her because they seemed to have something special there, even without his memory.

Borrowing the books to have a reason to go back. So sweet, even with all the loss and sadness around it with the missing memories. :)

I'm reminded, in part, of the stories of people with Alzheimer's who cling to certain parts of their past that have special significance, and Wesley holds onto the books and Lena in the same kind of way.

Now I feel like I should give you more prompts to get more stories like this. :)

I'm so glad you liked it. I recently read a book review about a book where the character relived seven days over and over, and then I wondered what if it wasn't the same seven days? What if this was your life? And what kind of girl would ever want to have to live through that with you? Wesley and Lena were born.

It's the Fifty First Dates of short fic! I like how evocative this is. I keep sensing other things, but it stands alone as its own work too. I've always said that the best snippets made me want to know more about the characters, and that definitely holds true here. Thanks for sharing.
