So I Wrote Fic

I wrote fic or ficlets today for

• The Unusuals


• MCU, Bucky/Natasha, Bucky/Steve (in a way)


• The Princess Bride


• Hawkeye (Comics)


• Vardin

They all gave me the same feeling, of being a little rusty at certain kinds of things that used to be well under my belt. I need to write more varied material again. I know I'm practicing writing longer fic and I know why, but yeah, it was very odd to have trouble writing bedroom scenes, very brief fic, or just plain Vardin at all.

Gotta fix that.

Can I ask you a question? WHERE DO YOU FIND THE TIME??? I'm lucky if I get in a paragraph a night, these days. (Except on planes. I do okay on planes.)

A few years back, I was getting so frustrated with the fact that I'd sit down to write and get interrupted literally every 2-7 minutes, that I tracked my time to the minute. I found out I could write between 100-250 words in 2-5 minutes, 350-400 in fifteen, and 1500-2000 in an hour.

I stopped complaining.

The Hawkeye fic took me 25 minutes or so and it was hard. The other fics took me between 5 and 10 minutes each probably, one less. The Unusuals one did take 15 minutes I think, but it was over 500 words.

So yeah. It's just a matter of actually being able to whip out short fic on a dime if I have a prompt.
