It's Been a Day

Actually a weekend.

Friday was… not great. For a lot of different reasons that sort of just glommed onto each other to make me feel generally miserable.

Today was trying to get the kitchen done and moved into in one big go. Which was not my greatest idea, but it was productive, just not at all done. :sigh:

My bath and toiletries box is still in the garage and I have seriously got to buy some groceries tomorrow. Also, check will be short due to move and I’m still waiting for time off requests to be submitted to know whether it’ll honor giving me my holiday hours for Labor Day.

But hey, I got an exchange fic written and we’ll have lunch containers that are clean tomorrow, so there’s that?

Patreon

I’ve been looking at a few things, like archiving my original fiction on its own site for that, on writing.com, or maybe even the Kingdoms and Thorn stuff that started as promptfest stuff on AO3.

And then there’s Patreon. If I had one, would anyone even be interested?

I already kind of post too much poetry and finish too little fiction, though I would probably go with  properly collecting/publishing stuff + short works for a Patreon.

Written for my origfic bingo:

This is the moment she’s been waiting for—weeks of patient fingers smudged gunpowder black, staring up at the sky wondering what it would mean to blot out the stars with a more brilliant light.

Aneda turns the pages of the ancient book, weights down the delicate page with a carefully placed rock (she’s ever been practical), and breathes on her palm to watch her exhalation curl upward into smoke and flame. She touches it to the fuse and waits.

Her palms are damp with sweat. She doesn’t bother to douse the flame.

There. Flaring light. Come, rescue me. Color.
