Felise scowled at the dark bruise that had bloomed over her shoulder sometime last night. She recognized it, impossible not to, when it looked just like the one Enadar got in gym yesterday.
Enadar Kallas. The most annoying boy on the face of the earth. Well, in Holteshire anyway.
She pulled on a long sleeved sweater over her tank top to cover it before hoisting her backpack to head to school.
It was Kailyn Wells who ruined everything, fawning over Enadar enough to make Felise sick. Felise slammed her locker shut, drawing the startled attention of half the kids in the hallway, not least of all Enadar.
She tied her sweater around her waist, shot Kailyn a narrow-eyed glare, and ignored Enadar's jaw falling open as she brushed past on the way to her next class.
It's not like she was expecting true love or anything. She wasn't.
