Vred said nothing. Alik's eyes drifted back to where the others were, Lisea and Malina holding onto each other in relief, Enadar and Felise wrapped up in an embrace born of the need for confirmation, wanting be sure the other was still alive to love.
“Let them have their moment,” Alik said, turning to leave. Their moment, not ours. Never ours.
