So there's this gal at Tribal Writer and a whole lot of other people that tell me to be authentic, put out there what inspires me, what I'm passionate about; in other words, to put my soul into my blog.
Hm.
Makes me wonder what that is.
I'm eclectic but I lean toward writing, but frankly, when I'm writing, I don't always want to write about it. Talk about it, yes. Write about it? Not so much.
When I try to sum myself up, I come up with an overanalytical, lingophiliac geek with a penchant for fanfiction and a love for all things interesting and quotable and researchable or readable. In fact, I once made a blog based on this sort of stuff and it didn't last. I don't seem to do half as well writing about it as talking about it. No problem with the self-analysis apparently, but then, I try not to inflict such upon others too often. I'm not that self-absorbed... I hope.
So here we go. There are some things I have wanted to do, but let's just start at the top. These aren't drabbles, in the fiction sense or in the sense of having exactly 100 words, but they're things I've been wanting to say.
1. She Never Runs Out of Things to Say |
lithiumlaughter
She’s the story girl; she’s awesome in every story way. She writes story, drops my jaw down, and it’s swallowed like a song. She reads stories, love her bookish tales of shoppers in that old-fashioned, come-in-person sort of way. She thinks stories, analyzes, turns favorite stories inside out. She’s a story; I’m a story; this is what friend’s about.
2. I'll Be Waiting Always |
ashmanda
Encouragement and friendship: things this girl is all about. Making bonds and sharing stories: times we laugh and times we cry. Spurts of writing, reams of silence: somehow we just keep hanging on. Girl, I promise I'll be waiting, be the wait ever so long.
3. Don't Stop the Music |
xenokattz
Sing it, girl; you keep this dance up, never stopping 'til the music's gone. It takes forever, takes forever, but still you just keep dancing on. Always better 'til we're singing: girl, just don't you stop that song. Sing it, angel; keep on singing; you keep me walking on.
Inspiration, Katt. I've claimed you for a muse. :grins:
4. Life's Not a Paragraph |
arliddian
Life's not a simple sentence; I am not the period. We're not just letters strung together, not forgotten pens and ink. There's more to life than words and there's more to love than this. You remember all the brush strokes and the One who holds the pen. Thanks for keeping me remembering.
5. House of Cards |
luciademedici
She's a house o' cards a'tumblin', unshaken, through the hands. The Queen of Spades, the high trump Ace, the Two of Clubs indeed. You never lose a winner when this girl is up your sleeve. She's fun itself; she knows the hands; my Lady Luck, you see. Keep whispering that Cajun jazz; I'm cocking half an ear. Refill the glass; deal out again; this ain't the end, my dear. The opening, the gambit move, the encore, that is she. She's fascinating awesomeness; she's Lucia de'Medici.
6. Missing That Tune |
ludi_ling
Pop on an oldie—I miss that tune. Croon me a lullaby, and make me swoon. Kissing your words and drinking that song; I'll read it again until we're all home.
7. Let the Good Times Roll |
prettygothpens
We write, we read, we're the grammar queens. Love the language, it's a writer's true friends. We sing, we dance, this is art to be. Just look at the girl with the pretty goth pens.
8. Keep Me Playing, Eclectica |
in_the_blue
You've always the thing to say, the words to jog me into mood. I know I lurk—bad form, you say—but this buzzin', I'm listening anyway. Put a bee in my bonnet, and a coin in my hat. Master of drabbles, you make me keep coming back.
9. The Voices May Not Be Real |
rogue437
It's all in your head, but you've got it in mine. I can't help but laugh as your stories unwind. You love me always through the thick and the thin, when stories roll out and when stories roll in. I hoard up your treasures, unpack them in rain, read 'way the hours, and then do it again. May you laugh through the hard times as much as I do whenever I get to spend them with you!
10. Dancing in the Dark |
mwffj
Remind this cat how she came to be in this corner of fanfic university. Livejournal, I tried; I cried, not for me! Then along came this famed devotee. Slow dance, can't see her in the dark, and then I'm hooked. Didn't stand a chance, 'cause I didn't see her comin'. Don't you bother to resist when you meet this girl dancing.
So I know you may not be devoted to LJ, but you are to fanfic, so it almost works. :shrugs, grinning:
11. Shadow of the Night |
simoneybologna
Don't forget the shadows, when we're wandering through the night. We won't forget our flashlights, and we won't forget the light. Never could forget her, like remembering in the fight, when words flash like banded lightning, when we're writing up a storm.
Here's to my LJ fam. Hope you feel the love.
