2) How do they take their coffee? What's the biggest difference between their professional relationship (as partners/badasses/professional warriors) and their personal one?

In their personal relationship, expression of emotions is permitted and bad memories can be shared. In their professional relationship, the only expression of memory or emotion allowed is more determination to accomplish mission success.

I see Natasha as a however-I-want-it-to-look-like-I-ought-to-take-it kind of girl, but black when she's home alone with exactly ONE dollop of cream. Hawkeye, black. Not sure, but this is my thinking.

I figure Clint probably drinks it black too, if at all. If he drinks it, probably only one cup. I tend to think he doesn't drink it at all -- he doesn't want his 'sharpness' dependent on him having had or not having had coffee.

That's what I was feeling. I wasn't sure if he was a coffee guy at all, but I just couldn't see him getting fancy with it. But seriously. Withdrawals, dependency, alertness test fail... That makes so much sense.

3 years? I admit to never having nailed down timelines with this, but here goes...

He hated her goody two-shoes. She hated his bad-boy rebel. Her creative writing brought him to tears when they had to read aloud in class. His abuse of those poor mathematical formulae could make her blood boil. Cue finally having to deal with each other in school/research/study/name-your-poison, wherein they discovered that having different strengths was complementary—not problematic.

She wants to heal him. He's not sure what he wants, but finally he decides to protect her. And that means walking away.

That last bit is the part I think really IS my headcanon. It never seems to want to change as to why I think he left the X-Men, never mind that he isn't with Kitty in canon. I ignore such dreadfully foolish details.

It just feels right to me. His idea of doing the right thing doesn't jibe with most people's.

Wolverine expressed his absolute disapproval of the relationship (partly, but not only, because they didn't bother getting his approval), but he had to back off after he realized that Rogue was quite. deliberately. ignoring his opinion on the matter of "if" and requiring his daddily assistance on matters of "because."
