Working… Working…

And lots of writing left to do. I know where I’m going with “Dowse and Bleed” now, and I have the next four or five challenge stories in the percolator, but I took some time out yesterday to read Rabia Gale‘s Mourning Cloak.

Wow. A quick and engrossing read. Kato is a man who thinks he’s failed his god and his destiny and discovers that the seer aiding him saved him from failing his world. When Kato goes on a mission to rescue his captured wife, whom he thought deceased, he gets an opportunity to put the world to rights. A powerful story of how the right way may be beyond our understanding, and the path to redemption may be the path we thought led to perdition. Lovely, lovely, and I’m not doing it half enough justice.

Any good reads lately? How’s the writing coming?

I'm looking forward to seeing all that work. :)

Haven't had much time to read lately. Seems like the pygmies want to bury me under all my unfinished projects and not let me out to breathe while dumping new stuff on me as well. They keep saying, "Work on this." "No, that." "This!" "Ha! That!"

I can't win. I'm trying to stick to my two big projects and finish them up (hopefully before my mother leaves on her mini vacation on the 16th so I can send them with her to read) and keep up with snippeting, most likely with the alien at this point, but I swear, I've had new ideas, sequel ideas, and fics that want resurrection hit me all at once.

Gotta love inspiration, right? :P

Yeah, I think all writers know how that goes sometimes. It's always more ideas than time. Seems like the closer one gets to the end of a certain piece, the more other things want to keep that end from being written.

Or so it has been lately with me. :(

(and for some reason it changed my userpic after I posted, silly thing.)

Just out of curiosity, what kind of writing are you doing?

Well, these days I only write original fiction.

Currently, I am nearing the end of two stories that I guess I'd classify as mystery/suspense type things. I also have a scifi thing that I've got bits and pieces of (a result of a vow to put a fic snippet on my website every day.)

There is some of all of that up on the site, (http://kabobbles.com/category/kabobbles-choice/page/2/) if you get curious enough to look. The scifi one starts with "Acceptance."
