Reading and Writing, Weekend October 24–27

So playing total catch-up here (I know, I know). On Thursday, I managed to write some at the end in the Justus POV fic of "Its Own Absolution" due to a wonderful antagonists prompt from in_the_blue. It gave me a good headstart. I percolated a lot on Sabbath about it, but didn't turn that sketch into fic until Sunday, and awkward fic at that.

Somewhere in there, I also sketched down some other stuff and have started to rethink my approach to this collaboration. I need something that doesn't fit easily into worldbuilding I've already done for any other story. It's not fair to thecatisacritic.

Also, trovia got me off on an amazing Avengers fanfic novel (I'm a sucker for brothers), so there's that. It took time to read and was good for when I was feeling totally bleh on the mental front.

I did kind of enjoy the family interplay there, but that was as much as I got.

Do you want to do the other part or do you want more from me?

You have the other project you were working on, so if you want to focus on that, I understand.

I don't know. I know you mentioned preferring chronological and there aren't even names here to play with yet, so if you want me to go, I will and not a prob. If you want to fiddle with this first, I can wait. I'm wide open this second.

I wasn't sure about the names yet. I didn't have any jump out at me as ones to use. All I'm really sure of at this point is that if he doesn't stay calm, bad things happen... so his emotions affect his control over his ability, and it is destructive (or perhaps opens other dimensions, since the book vanished) but I wasn't really able to pin anything much down.

I was expecting the reason for not wanting to come back to come out, but he wasn't talking.

So... if you have anything, that could help.

Will have to write more tomorrow. I got 15 minutes of computer/tea-straining time left and the tea needs to be strained. I'll put it on the collab post I just threw up.

Personally, I'd like to skip dimensions if you don't mind. I've got them in two worlds already where I'd hoped to keep that to one.

Skipping dimensions is fine.

I usually know what abilities are before writing, but his is not cooperating except to tell me that it's dangerous and difficult for him to control and makes his siblings overprotective.

What do you mean, two worlds?

I've got dimensionals in Vardin and Kingdoms and Thorn, though I'd hoped to keep it out of K&T, it popped up, so.
