My mind is kind of blank space right now. I've gotten all the bad, depressing stuff out of it, but still waiting for new material to start percolating within it. But hey, (LJ users) check out the new icon! I got one for Tris too.
I think that after every major event, whether it be a sad one like you're getting past or a happy one like finishing a book or going to a wedding or moving, some downtime is absolutely necessary. I also think you've proved over and over that you know how to write consistently, so right now the only pressure you're under for that is from yourself. Be kind to yourself, yes?
Yes to that. You're a sweetie to say I'm consistent; I'm less sure of that, but I do feel okay with taking the slow time. It's part of my process. Forcing writing just does not work out well for me ever.
I don't think it works well for most people. There's something to be said for pushing our way through the slow or less creative times, a la NaNo, but i think there's also something to be said for stepping back and taking a look at what we have. Giving it a critical eye and figuring out where we want to go next. That's part of the process too.
