Am I the only one?

Has anyone else seen Jane the Virgin, and does anyone else love it? Coming from some Hispanic background myself (Mom learned English off a television when she was a kid) and having a love of good, clean characters (and I admit to liking Petra too [who is not]!), I'm kind of in love and I want fic for it, but I'm still inarticulate enough to not be able to fic it myself yet.

It's the characters. Jane is precious, her mama is hilarious and sweet and protective and rowdy all in one, and her abuela is hilarious and serious and everything a grandmother should be. The fiance is realistic and conflicted and screws up but also corrects himself and just a generally good guy.

All the main characters so far have both good qualities and bad ones. They are so very flawed, but you also kind of love them for this reason or that. Petra is the villainess, so not at first, but then you realize she's actually in love with her husband and that makes a huge difference. Plus I have theories about her past, so a lot of fanficability there.

And the whole story is funny and sweet and serious and maintains this perfect balance of the above. It's amazing to me really that it manages to never slide too far to any one side.

So yeah, I'm just totally in love here.

I've read about it and it sounds kind of great.
