Good flippin' gravy woman, this was just what I was hoping for. Getting inside that screwed up head of his and laying it bare for the audience. A hundred times YES.

I love how this piece makes everything that's him into a means to an end, and has stripped him to this survivor -- LeBeau -- who is just a leftover of the means he's employed. There's this wonderful implication that he may not even KNOW what the end he's reaching for is, and he's just this tattered mess that's hiding under his mask, just waiting. Beautiful.

And that line about counting cards when he knows all the hands? Shivers. Absolute shivers.

I think I love you. I wrote this in an off moment and now that I come back to it, I'm surprised at how well it turned out. And I'm ultra-glad you like it. :hugs:
