They're bringing him in! (Of course, no other choice, but...) And the beer. Goodness, there was so much knowing him exasperation. And Bobbi really does seem like the girl in charge.
And can I just say I'm pleasantly surprised at Melinda's ex. Everything about their interaction makes me want to know more, and I'm sooo glad he's starting out on Skye's side.
And eee! I loved her questions. Deflecting or not, seriously, they gave her candy. I love that he exchanged too. And now I want all the May loves Vegas stories.
Coulson knew Bobbi was lying. Kind of worried. Love how she took down the guy.
I'm actually really worried and acknowledge I've crossed over to seriously rooting for her because she just doesn't feel like a traitor to me.
And Fitz and May about Andrew. And my poor baby Jemma. She seems scared for Skye and like she's floundering to hold onto something with all the anchors gone. Agh. Gotta go watch more.
(I definitely just saw these comments because LJ decided I don't get to have notifs today...)
Haha, sure! :) I liked that he exchanged too. I actually use that strategy a lot with patients -- I find you can get so much further by offering a few benign details about yourself than by playing the "you don't get to ask about me" card. But everyone has their own style, I think.
And...I've been rooting for Bobbi from the beginning and I'm not really worried about it. Adrianne keeps saying the secret is not a bad thing, and I believe her. Plus, it wouldn't make any sense for them to promote her to series regular and then write her off as a traitor, you know?
I'm more worried about the conflict because both sides are good and Civil War? But yeah, I definitely get that whole it's not bad and clung to it and the reveal works, still hoping they don't send my favs to war.
I got no notifs on this post from the beginning, so stuck to refreshing here.
I think it's too early to be setting up Civil War that explicitly. Plus we don't even know how the MCU Civil War is gonna go, you know? Winter Soldier was nothing like its namesake comic and it seems like AoU will be the same.
I'm not sure if they're dead. Also that part bugged me because catatonia does not mean falling over unconscious...It's a specific state of being conscious but not response. /nitpicky rant
Eeee! The real SHIELD. Please let it include Maria, and so many feels with May, and Skye was hurting herself, and Jemma, more secrets, and SHIELD hasn't changed. Incoherent flailing.
I want to say why hand it to Coulson, thendo it yourself, but Fury's secrets have secrets, Coulson was a liability, and Fury said he'd be off working. And Maria was deputy and Bobbi was close to Fury professionally and Hartley was in and Clint apparently is close to Fury in AoU.
But the toolbox!
Maybe Maria knew about it and wanted it? But, but, but!
Yeah, I'm not sure what to make of the toolbox. But, think about Coulson and Fury in the context of Winter Soldier -- Maria was in on Fury's doubts about SHIELD. Coulson wasn't.
True, true. I ranted after that AOS episode. I didn't mind, due to show logistics, that they chose Coulson. I minded much Fury saying, you're the only one...
I was seriously like, and what about Maria!?
Cover is an interesting thought. The untrusting lot of spies.
But, if Fury wanted to sell Coulson on it, that's exactly what he'd say, you know? Think about how he lied to the Avengers about Coulson's death to unite/motivate them. Telling Coulson that he considers him the only one/basically an Avenger is exactly what Coulson would need to hear in order to buy in 300%.
And really Coulson was better suited for the PR war and as a HYDRA target. I felt Coulson was more visionary, Maria more acceptable losses, big picture get the job done prioritization.
I think Fury definitely needed both. I keep thinking about Steve and Natasha in that first sequence of Winter Soldier, and how Fury gave them different missions without telling them. Coulson is definitely more of the Steve type, right? I mean, he basically wants to be Steve. Whereas Maria (and definitely Bobbi) is more like Natasha -- able to compartmentalize, follow orders, do the ruthless thing if it's what's needed.
Well, I won't be ficcing it before next week because I STILL have a chapter to write and then family visiting. But I'm pretty sure I'm going to end up writing more AoS fic before this season is over.
I watched like the first 3 eps, then quit until after the HYDRA reveal because I hated it so much. But then I realized I mostly hated it because I was angry at it for not being the show I wanted it to be (i.e. a show about other canon SHIELD agents from the comics like, you know, Bobbi). And then, ironically, this season it became the show I had wanted it to be from the beginning, so.
Also I have been so happily surprised by the risks they've taken -- what they did with Ward, what they've done with Skye, etc. It started out feeling to me like kind of a watered down spy procedural, with a lot of rather generic elements, but then they have repeatedly blown the lid off all of that and it's just so great.
So definitely. When I say worried with this series, it's not long term. It's short term, can my nerves take this. It's intense, which is awesome, but I do react very viscerally to certain forms of suspense and emotional conflict.
Huh. Can you believe, I just figured out that's why I get nervous if I feel it coming.
But I honestly get surprised at outright worry about whether MCU will ruin something. They've done an amazing job so far.
I want Bobbi/Nat gym porn now. Like, they train together to blow off steam and then fuck to blow off a different kind of steam. :p In fact, maybe it actually turns out that Bobbi is the first person Natasha sleeps with at SHIELD.
I am sadly totally not turned on by femslash and find it almost impossible to write, het as it gets and all myself. I can write gym play but not porn. :(
