I ship it: Maria Hill/Bucky Barnes.

Your fault. That prompt I picked up in the exchange that resulted in "Hypothetically" really did it for me. Tough girl, charming guy, both have issues and she doesn't have patience for his, which is part of what he likes about her. She doesn't coddle him or pity him or treat him like a weapon or someone he used to be (and she never met). He's got the charm and the chivalry without being the kind of chivalrous I think she'd have to mold. He doesn't blink twice at what she does and likes the challenge of her tough girl. At least, that's how I headcanon it when I write them.



I don't ship it: Hardison/Parker/Eliot

Honestly, I don't get the draw of Eliot with Parker. They don't really fit and I fell for Hardison/Parker when he did (when she changed the law before submitting it). Eliot seems so much like their big brother in a lot of ways, I can't get a non-platonic vibe off of them. At all.


I'm open to it: Peggy Carter/Daniel Sousa

I don't actually ship it, but I wouldn't mind seeing it on the show. Honestly, I don't see him as condescending to her, but just honestly chivalrous and trying to find a balance, even when he doesn't always succeed. He sees her as valuable, even before he knew just HOW good of an agent she is. It's a ship I'll read, but I probably won't write it.

Bruce/Tony or Bruce/Natasha (or both if you like ;P)

I ship it platonically: Bruce/Tony

Think David and Jonathan or Erik and Charles (when no one's slashing them). I like the intense bromance of it all because they fit and well, but yeah. That's where I stop.

I like the way they balance each other (especially when well-written) and how Tony actually feels like a good influence on Bruce regarding those self-esteem issues, which is funny because Tony has his own.


I do not ship it: Bruce/Natasha

I'm not feeling it. Even when it's well written, I just don't feel connection and chemistry there beyond the platonic. They really don't fit.

Totally agree that Tony is good for Bruce's self-esteem issues and maybe being good for somebody is good for Tony?

I'm not sure what to make of Bruce/Natasha, myself. Sometimes it's the best crackship pair in the world and sometimes one or other of them -or they both- get damselled. :/

I mean, that's just bad writing to me. Honestly, I don't see any chemistry. They're just not a good romantic fit unless you work for it, and at the amount they have to work for it, I'm not rooting for it.

The fact that the movies went from Hulk scaring Natasha half to death and trying to pulverize her in the underbelly of the Helicarrier going to her being able to deHulk him, to suddenly romancing him was one step too far. I would have far preferred a non-romance in Ultron and just focused on the platonic love they have or else had Bruce be mentioned or appear in Cap2 for a cameo to give an impression that something was brewing behind the scenes. Or just flirting without being hit on the head with the "SHIP MEEEEEEE!" stick :P

The way Ultron did it was way, way too rough. BUT I do love fics that explore the how-Natasha-gave-Hulk-a-Lullabye dynamic (either shippily or platonically, depending on the author).

I just think it was easier for the movie people to make them a ship than recasting for Betty Ross' character (but maybe I'm a cynic)

I can talk my way around the new canon and extrapolate something that works for me, but let's just say the relationships handling fell into an X3-like box for me. You just had to go and do that, canon. You didn't even do it well.

If they had even done it more subtly, let the actors flirt like mad without overtly stating that the writer/director wanted it to be shipped a lot more people would have shipped it :P (They don't know how fandom works, lolz)

I'm not even open to Bruce/Natasha. Honestly, they're not a NOTP like Steve/Natasha for me, but even extremely well-done, well-developed, well-written fics haven't sold me on romance between Bruce and Natasha (though I love good platonic), and so I've given up. I thought something would eventually because of one good Clint/Bruce/Natasha fic that did sell me, but no one replicated it without Clint, so yeah, not even open at this point, barring a writerly miracle, which canon could simply never be in that medium. :shrugs:
