I'm getting ready to read about 100,000 words of canon review for the collaboration, which is no small chunk, and before I do, I kind of wanted to write some drabbles. Any prompts?
  1. fandom or canon - tagset of fandoms
  2. character(s)
  3. fluff or angst
  4. one to three word prompt

So this is more the aftermath of said smooth move, and it's slightly longer than a drabble, and I should probably have made it more clear that Khrystyn is deaf. Alexei and Brown can hear but were raised in Deaf families so they sign while speaking.

The silent tirade ended with the slam of the door, right in Brown's face, and while Alexei did his own jerk when it happened, at least it wasn't in his face this time. The other man sighed, leaning against the wall in frustration, his signing betraying his agitation.

“You could have warned me about your sister.”

Alexei snorted. “Khrystyn fights her own battles and mine. She doesn't need my help.”

“Maybe she doesn't, but I apparently do.”

“I'm not teaching you to make golubtsi. Or solyanka. That is how I get out of the doghouse. You are so on your own, buddy.”

Brown glanced at the door, shaking his head as he did. Alexei had a feeling if his sister could see the agent now, she'd be smiling. Poor guy had it bad, and he didn't even know it. Of course, knowing Khrystyn, she'd let him squirm a bit before admitting it was mutual. Alexei smiled, settled in on the couch, and prepared to watch the show.

Um, well, this is the same one with Zoya whose family was murdered so you might not like all of it, though I've mostly concentrated on the dynamics between Zoya, Alexei, Khrystyn, and now Brown, so maybe if I give you just certain pieces of it...?

I did have a person who speaks ASL look at the first few parts for accuracy in that respect, since it's been years since my dad was friends with a deaf guy and we all learned a bit to talk to him and his family, but still... It may come close to squicking you as Zoya's reason for knowing sign is her family's murder and Alexei's been accused of being involved in someone's disappearance (they suspect murder, but they have no bodies and he is innocent) but I'm just... warning, I guess.

I have no intention of writing out the actual crime, but the story does have Feds questioning her about a possible copycat or if there was someone else there that night and Alexei being accused of making that guy disappear (which, as I said, he didn't do, but the wrong cop got that case and is convinced he did.)

However, it's me, and they spent most of the scene where Brown should be trying to interview them making golubtsi, so it might not be so bad.

Can compromise and write fills that have minimal reference to the backstory/plot, though. And can send the parts that are about them just interacting. I like when Alexei meets Zoya or when he and Khrystyn teach her to play pool, and the references there are minimal or nonexistent.

Okay. I'll go through and see which should be okay to send. And I will likely do more fills, too.

I need to put up more prompts, too, but I think I have to pause long enough to do a few things I've been avoiding first. :(
