Is she still purple? She could be a mixed breed of some kind, maybe.

Not that her being human is a bad thing, but I admit to partiality to the purple tailed Trance.

“Do you miss it?”

Harper shook his head. He couldn't miss Earth. Some of the people on it, his cousins, maybe, but the way he'd had to be to survive, having to face off against Dragons and Magog, barely knowing if he would live through the next hour, forget about days or weeks—No, he did not miss that. He could not miss it.

“Why should I?” Harper asked, wrapping an arm around the woman beside him. “Best thing that ever happened to me on Earth is right here beside me.”

Trance smiled, leaning her head against his chest as she snuggled closer to him. He didn't know how he'd ended up with this strange gift beside him. He figured Nietzchean slavers must have brought her to Earth, even if they usually took people away instead of bringing them in. He didn't have a better explanation for it. Few people went to Earth by choice, and why would a smart, beautiful purple lady be any different?

“It was your home,” she reminded him.

“We'll make a new one. We got free from Earth, didn't we?”

“Yes, we did,” she said with a smile, wrapping her tail around him. “I'm glad I found you in time, Seamus Harper. I was wrong about the perfect possible future, but I'll get it right this time.”

“Oh-kay,” he said, drawing out the word. She looked up at him, and he forced a smile. “Hey, I'm just glad I'm with you. This is going to be a whole new start for us. We'll find a new place, somewhere nice and quiet and—”

“A ship,” she said. “Trust me, I know just which one to pick.”
