Of Dreams and Laughter
Date: 2015-07-21 10:20 pm (UTC)His head jerked up, and Beka waited, arms over her chest, brow raised. He nodded, trying to look like he hadn't been lost in thought or better yet, daydreaming. Oh, if he'd been daydreaming, she was going to enjoy this. A lot.
“Yeah, fine.”
“You don't exactly sound fine.”
Dylan grimaced. “I had this... unsettling dream last night, and I can't seem to shake it.”
“Oh?” Beka asked, looking over at the others with a barely suppressed grin. She was going to enjoy this, and she didn't think she was the only one.
“I was trying to argue with a cockroach.”
Beka almost choked. “What?”
Dylan nodded. “I had to convince it to save itself, to use its resources for preserving life in the face of the end of the universe, but I just couldn't make it listen.”
Tyr broke out in near hysterical laughter, almost doubling over the console. Dylan frowned. “Perhaps we should look for airborne toxins. Between my dreams and his laughter...”
“Yeah,” Beka said, struggling to keep a straight face herself. “You do that.”
