The text is a Springsteen lyric (at the time I made this one, I also made a 'six-inch-valley in the middle of my soul' Scott/Jean icon, which is a lyric from the same song.) I made this my default icon this summer b/c it's been so freaking hot.
2. "Try to praise the mutilated world" is a quote from a poem that I referenced in my post-X2 fic "The Busy Griefs." I used that picture because I spent a lot of time staring at it that summer.
3. Joss is a quote from the director's commentary to "Serenity," which I got a kick out of at the time for whatever reason. It's still a fun comment on creativity, I think.
4. Kitty serious is John Cassaday art from Astonishing X-Men. I really like that image, and the 'serious' distinguishes it from the movieverse Kitty icon I already had, which is a silly one.
5. "Breathe" is a panel of Rachel Grey-Summers that I really liked in the 'X-Men: Deadly Genesis' miniseries. It ACTUALLY portrays a 'squint and fall down' moment where she's overstraining her telepathy but out of context she LOOKS so relaxed I used it to convey relaxation at a time I really needed to remember that.
6. I read an interview with Mark Millar where he made a comment about Cyclops liking to date 'skanky bondage queens.' I commented to
7. My user name comes from the chorus of the Bruce Springsteen song "Blinded by the Light," which is its own long story, but

3. I do like it. A lot.
4. I love the picture, and I have so uploaded other pics 'cause the only ones I've got of a character don't match the mood.
5. Who'd a thunk it?
6. ROTFL I love that interchange.
7. It is beautiful.
