Comment to this post, and I will list five things I associate with you, They might make sense or they might be totally random. Then post that list, with your commentary, to your LJ (or just add a reply back to me). Other people (including me) can get lists from you, and the meme merrily perpetuates itself.
Vardin
This, of course, has nothing to do with the fact that
in_the_blue is my beta for all stories written in the Vardin world, of which hopefully there will be many. Vardin is sort of the culmination of years of mentally rewriting the evolutionary theory behind superhero mutations into something with concrete scientific rules that make sense and categorize it all neatly. Somewhere in there, a medical terminology course didn't help either. It's fun and logical and illogical all at once, but since I absolutely adore biochemistry and genetics, it was inevitable that I'd eventually turn these stories into original fiction with all the original characters and multifandom bases I'd been playing around with since forever.
busy as a bee
Um... Yeah. Busy I am. I don't seem to know how to stop, even when it's not just good for me, but necessary. I'm always headed in a thousand directions. Real healthy, yeah? :rolls eyes at self:
Rogue/Gambit
Favorite X-Girl was always Rogue, so when I decided to dip my toes back into fandom a few years back, I looked her up, read a bunch of stuff, got inspired, wrote a bit, then discovered Gambit. I was like, "My favorite character has a love interest?!" Then, of course, I fell in love with Gambit. Sometimes I wonder if I actually love him more now.
Christianity
Wasn't expecting this one, though I cannot tell you how awesome it felt that it made it on the list. I often feel I'm too shy about being Christian. It's easy to let the world make me feel ashamed of being Christian or at least of talking about it, like it's okay to bash Christians, just not anybody else, and please, keep your ideas to yourself. And then throw in fanfic, which is about characters that only rarely share even a fraction of my beliefs, and I occasionally wonder how good of a Christian I really am. But there you have it. It made the list. And I love God and it's a part of who I am.
writing
This really wasn't a surprise. Writing is the one thing I swear is written on my blood and bones. There is nothing I would rather be than a writer. Nothing.
Naturally, comment and I'll list you in 5.

Re: Surprised myself, but quite true...
Date: 2011-12-09 05:21 pm (UTC)Cowboy Bebop is the first anime series I watched (the little kid ones like Pokemon and Digimon don't count; my daughter was wee and I had no choice about those). I started watching Bebop when my friend Sunny dropped in for an extended stay and showed me half an episode she had on tape. At the time, it was still in daily rotation on Cartoon Network. The first full episode I saw was the last one and it ought to have spoiled me completely, knowing the end first, but it didn't even matter. I've gifted this series to more people than anything else, think it's great, and am still in love with it after all these years. That's probably so easy to tell just from looking at my icon set and my journal in general. Spike is everywhere.
I could blame the fact that I have many interests on my Gemini ascendant, which wants to scatter my focus to the winds. Instead, I'll just chalk it up to generally being in love with life and living and wanting to soak up as much as I can about as many things as possible. I tend not to get as narrow-mindedly obsessed as some of the people I know who'll dive into one thing at a time and wear them out. I like a broad spectrum of things that interest me at any given time, and usually if I adopt an interest it lasts a long, long time.
That you put listyness here cracks me up. I'm always making lists, always, and never doing anything with them except putting them in piles of lists. I'm the kind of person that's stubborn enough to only get around to things when I'm damn well ready to do it, list or no list.
Excuse me if I give off the appearance of being on top of my game. I'm not sure what I did to deserve it. I don't always take things in the order presented (see "listyness"), although I try to live up to all the commitments I make... eventually. I just... there are only so many hours in the day and I have my priorities, as those who know me personally can probably attest. But I'm honored you associate this with me and I'll try to live up to it!
Thank you, thank you, this was fun.
