From Wikipedia (and attested by any good grammar book):

A run-on is a sentence in which two or more independent clauses (i.e., complete sentences) are joined without appropriate punctuation or conjunction.

I do not write run-on sentences. I write long, complex sentences that Nabokov puts to shame.

As you were.

Ignorant review? ;-) I had one once that started with "apart from some literacy issues" - when I politely inquired I got back a "I don't remember, I think there was a typo LOL".

And yes, the semi-colon, double dash and parenthesis are my friends. :-)

Sorry, but: it's Nabokov. :P

Sympathy, though. Everyone thinks they know more about grammar than they actually do, and yes, by "everyone", I also mean me.
