The Invisible Ficathon is Back!

Some found mcu_aufest to be their "fun" fest last year. For me it was this one, and so far, only the MCU Ladies Ficathon tielan ran was as fun this year.

From the announcement:

jadelennox and I are running the exchange again this year--with a bit of a twist. We're going to run two similar exchanges on two year cycle: Invisible Ficathon (classic edition!) and Lost Library, which is going to run this year.

The difference? Lost Library is much narrower in scope: it focuses on writing excerpts from canon's mentioned works--e.g. writing parts of the Hitchhiker's Guide itself. Writing excerpts of works that could theoretically exist in the canon are also allowed (eg Invisible Ficathon is broader: imaginary canons like Ghost Soup are allowed, fic about the excerpts instead of the excerpts themselves.

This year's schedule:

Nominations open: Sunday May 24
Nominations close: Sunday May 31, 11:59 EDT
Assignments are out: Thursday June 4, approximately
Stories are due: Sunday June 28, 11:59 EDT
Stories revealed: Saturday July 4
Authors revealed: Saturday July 11

Stories should be at least 500 words. Everyone is encouraged to write treats (extra fic apart from your assignment, to anyone in the exchange)--the more, the merrier!

I will personally drop another exchange if I have to in order to participate in this one. It was the best exchange ever, and I wrote for Averil's Atonement by Anne Shirley, Preston of the Spaceways, and The Havenite 'Faxes Colloquially Known as "Smutsies". It was delightful. :big grin just remembering it:

See, I wrote fanfic for Fox Force Five (the tv show described in Pulp Fiction) which I found hard-going, because it was fanfic for the tv show that was mentioned, not even the 'canon' itself.

(It was pretty questionable quality fic, too, I think. Not badfic, just notwelldonefic. I could have done better if I'd been writing the actual canon, which, yes, Lost Library but... SO MUCH WRITING.)

I do tend to overextend in the writing department - particularly in the NorthHemi summer. And with so much possibility in the land of MCU right now, I need to take on less 'small stuff' and finish these stories that want to get done and out...

Well, that makes sense. And it's reasonable. And I should have more self-control of my own, so I respect yours.

But at least there will be MCU and I most likely will ping you up to brainstorm. It's fun chatting fic.

Natasha - infiltration and undercover

With Jemma as their medical, Pepper as their money, and Peggy as the one who initially recruits them all.
