"You ever wonder what might have been?" Bobbi asked softly.

She had curled up against Clint on the couch, and they'd lay tangled up together for the last hour or so. One more blow up with Hunter, one last time before the divorce papers were finalized.

She wasn't talking about Hunter.

Clint ran his thumb over Bobbi's cheek, and she squinted up at him. Yeah, he'd wondered about it.

He leaned over and kissed her forehead gently. "I don't think now's the time to talk about it."

It was loss talking. The last thing Clint should be was her rebound.

Yes, you do! Ever since I realized they were married in the comic, I've been semi-obsessed with them as exes. So many authors treat Bobbi horribly (How dare she mess up the OTP!) and I really love how you write them so tenderly.

Natasha waited until they were alone after everything went down—after the Avengers, after shawarma, after medical exams that went on too long and sent them packing with therapy requirements and paperwork that put a scowl on Clint's face, after a cold night in two hotel beds, after sending Loki off, and after driving away together as if nothing between them had changed.

She waited until they were alone and Clint had pulled off at the first scenic overlook for a stretch after too many miles of highway and silence and soft radio when they couldn't take the silence anymore.

He started to open the car door to get out and she put a hand on his arm to stop him, leaning forward in the same motion to kiss him firmly and pull back matter-of-factly. She'd almost lost him. This was her statement that he was hers and she wasn't about to give that up.

Clint studied her for a moment, then leaned in slower and kissed her longer, more thoroughly than she'd kissed him. His hand came up to cradle her jaw. He kissed her until they both needed to come up for air and simply wouldn't. She'd almost lost him. This was his statement that he was hers and he wasn't about to give that up.

That is PERFECT. I love the echoing lines following each of their kisses. "SHe'd almost lost him... he was hers..." PERFECT.

Whisper felt Red Wolf climb into the bed behind her, his weight heavy on her back as he settled around her, mouth pressed to her neck.

"Whisper," he murmured.

She stirred, murmured a hushing sound back. It wouldn't be good for anyone to hear him in her room or know that he was hers.

He pressed his mouth more firmly against her skin, a kiss that made her lean into him to feel him better. His hands were warm on her waist. He nuzzled her gently and she sighed, the only sound of approval she allowed herself to give him.
